I am a member of the Native American Flute Portal and Wind Weaver’s music is posted on that site. We have a number of fans who also belong to that portal and own our CD, Wild Threads. Recently, Rex Gideon, approached us with a copy of Paul’s song Welcome with his own flute song dubbed over it. Paul and I were both excited that Wind Weaver music is inspiring people to play along.
Here is the post from the NAF flute portal, along with his lovely rendition of the song ( at the bottom of the post)

“welcome”
I am a big fan of “Wind Weaver” - Terry Mack & Paul Bezooyen.
I have their CD “Wild Threads” and love all the songs on it, but there is this one track where Paul plays on his acoustic guitar without Terry playing.
As I listened to this album over many times I couldn’t resist picking up a flute to play along with this solo guitar track “welcome”.
I’ve been playing along with it for a couple weeks now, so today I recorded it and sent a MP3 to Terry explaining how much I adored it, and if it would be possible to share it with you folks.
Terry and Paul both responded back with “Yes, you may”!….So I am very honored!

“Hello Rex,
Just wanted to let you know that I was thrilled to hear what you added to my guitar instrumental “Welcome”. I believe music is for sharing - and I love the magic that happens during musical collaboration. You have brought something very complementary to the piece. Share as much as you like. I think Terry wants to get this on our website… It’s a great story about the power of music to bring people together.
Thanks Paul Bezooyen.”

“How exciting to know that other people are inspired to play along to Paul’s song Welcome. It is a favorite of mine.
In harmony, Terry Mack”

So here is my collaboration with Paul’s “welcome” track 9 on the “Wild Threads” CD! smile.gif I hope you enjoy it!
You can listen to “Wind Weaver” Terry Mack & Paul Bezooyen, here on the Portal in the Music section. http://www.fluteportal.com/music/150

“Welcome” C# Burning Wood Flutes…..Thank you Terry & Paul! cool.gif
Welcome-Collaboration_RexGideon_WindWeaver
Wind Weaver extends a big thanks to Rex for sharing this with us.

Wind Weaver is delighted, excited and ecstatic to announce that our song, ‘Aerial Wanderer’ will be in the film Finding Aloha 2. The film is directed by Phil Waller and is being released in early 2010. The film focuses on world class surfers and has some fantastic film footage of the giant waves that surfers dare to challenge.

Here is a link to the trailer for the first Finding Aloha Film.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2oUbW0uc9I&feature=related

Writer and Director Philip Waller embarks on an adventure to the mecca of surfing, the North Shore of Oahu. After years landlocked and uninspired by life in Los Angeles, Philip calls an old friend (Dan Moore) who lives on the North Shore asking if he can stay with him for a few weeks and document the trip. The next day Philip is sitting on a plane flying to Hawaii. “Finding Aloha” tells the story of underground Big Wave surfer Dan Moore and his amazing group of friends, as they search for pure happiness, adrenaline, and the meaning of the Aloha Spirit. Finding Aloha 2 also tells the story of a world class surfer.

This was a great event with lots of wonderful energy and great people celebrating the intriguing history of Nanaimo. It’s nice to see an event embrace the roots of its community. It’s also nice when an event like this chooses to celebrate the local talent in the community providing a spot for local musical artists, story tellers and artisans to share their talent with an enthusiastic audience. Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island is a great place to call home.

A real highlight for Wind Weaver was the sneak performance that we offered to a visitor to the island from New York who would not be able to stay to hear us play…..so we took her off to a place behind my flute sales tent and gave her a sneak preview of our music.

Music offers an opportunity for people to connect from so many different places in surprising ways. We were delighted to share our music with Nancy from New York.( Hi Nancy). For me it was a double pleasure as she is just beginning her flute playing journey. I maintain a belief that Native American Style Flutes are bringing people together, building a common bond and a stronger sense of connection.

From the west coast of Canada to the East Coast of the United States, the flutes have forged another connection in this magical world that we live in. I just love these flutes.

Thank You Coaltown Festival for a great event!
